Bismillah! (An ISIS Tragicomedy) was first staged in 2015 at the Edinburgh Fringe where it was listed for an Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award. It was subsequently developed at Theatre Royal Stratford East before being produced at the 2018 Vault Festival, where it sold out its run. It then transferred to Pleasance Theatre, Islington where it opened their brand-new ‘downstairs’ space and ran for three weeks before embarking on a UK Tour. In 2019, Bismillah! returned to Edinburgh Fringe for a sell-out run at Underbelly Cowgate.

The original 2015 production was featured in The Guardian with Mark Lawson describing the production as “Bold and Thought-provoking” and was endorsed on the BBC Asia Network by Nihal Arthanayake. It has had subsequent support from Dr. Sarah Illot, Dr. Anshuman A. Mondal, the Active Change Foundation, journalist Sean Langham and Dr Fahid Qurashi.
